What Is Botox?
Botox works by blocking ACTH acetylcholine impulses that trigger hyperactive muscle contractions. It is a simple, nearly painless injection that can make a world of difference in facial appearance. They will evaluate the size, location and shape of the muscles in the face to explain where you would experience the maximum benefit of the area you are looking to change.
Botox lasts for up to 4 months in each spot injecting, though it can range from location to location botox does completely dissolve so it is not permanent. Most patients get Botox every three to six months. Though the effects of Botox are not permanent, over time the muscles are being trained to be more relaxed which results in a less severe appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
